H One takes East-Asian hypermarket Lotte Mart Vietnam to the cloud

Premier Microsoft Cloud Deployment Partner H One Ltd. recently transitioned Lotte Mart’s Vietnam operations to the cloud.
The project, which involved moving the company’s 500+ Vietnam-based employees: factory staff, business users and senior management – to the cloud with next gen productivity tools, focused on enabling the organisation’s employees to collaborate more effectively and efficiently.
Headquartered in Japan and South Korea, Lotte Mart is one of the region’s best-known hypermarket chains for clothing, electronics and groceries. In keeping with the company’s vision to be the leading retailer in East Asia by 2018, Lotte Mart recently expanded into China, Indonesia and Vietnam, posing its employees new challenges in terms of working closely with colleagues across regional offices.
Previously constrained by their existing Domino platform, Lotte Mart Vietnam chose Microsoft Office 365 for its superior email, fully integrated collaboration platform and greater workstyle flexibility which provides employees with anywhere access to their ‘virtual office,’ across a range of devices.
Speaking about the positive impact of Office 365 on the company culture, Lotte Mart IT Manager Nguyen Quoc Thai said: “Our business users are very happy. Office 365 helps us solve real business challenges around our email, such as making available integrated email, contacts and calendars for our business heads who travel often, and enabling our marketing and branding teams greater flexibility in sending communications out to our extensive client database. Office 365 has also enabled our geographically situated teams to access internal websites for common resources, files, and content, which has in turn, helped us work more effectively with our regional teams.”
With Office 365 Lotte Mart is able to solicit and gather employee feedback through community forums, encourage company-wide knowledge-sharing, and provide secure avenues for the communication of organization-wide strategy and policies.
Having aligned Microsoft’s range of cloud plans with employee job roles, Lotte Mart is able to provide its employees with the latest and best productivity tools, paying only for what they use. The company also benefits from a financially-backed SLA guarantee of 99.9% uptime, continuous backup and the latest enterprise disaster recovery measures towards business continuity.
Commenting on the organisation’s cloud journey, IT Manager Nguyen Quoc Thai said: “Our Partner H One has provided excellent service and support in the establishment of Office365 for Lotte Mart – Vietnam and we look forward to continuing to work with H One.”
H One CEO Samath Fernando said: “We are proud to be Lotte Mart Vietnam’s Cloud Partner and are excited about helping them leverage cloud technology to drive growth and stay ahead of the game not only in Vietnam, but in the region. H One’s Cloud Team brought to bear best practices from Microsoft’s Center of Excellence for Office 365 to ensure Lotte Mart’s cloud transition was a success. We look forward to helping Lotte Mart build on this success and realize their vision of becoming the leading retailer in the region.”
A cloud consultant to the region, H One is also transitioning Thailand’s TMB Bank and Vietnamese mining giant – Masan Resources, to the cloud.
Since its inception in 2008 H One has earned a reputation for empowering clients with the most innovative technology solutions. A full-service vendor, H One is also a Microsoft Tier One Partner and top-ranked Large Account Reseller serving the largest number of Enterprise Agreement customers in Sri Lanka. H One has regional presence in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Thailand and Vietnam.
