Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces, the Met. Dept. predicts. Some showers can be expected in the western coastal area during the morning.
 
Thundershowers will develop elsewhere during the afternoon or evening, too.
 
 
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activities.
 
 
The deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurei, may be rough at times as the wind can be strengthening up to 70 kmph at times.
