Maithri challenges Mahinda for public debate
The common candidate Maithripala Sirisena challenges Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa for a debate on democracy and good governance. He made this challenge at a propaganda rally held at Divulapitiya today (17th).
Mr. Sirisena suggested 1st January for the debate and said all TV channels should be invited and the debate should be held in front of an independent panel of judges. He also said security should be provided for all who would participate. He said he would argue with Mr. Rajapaksa without having any paper to support him.
