Indian Navy Chief is in the island
Indian Navy Commander Admiral Nirmal Varma has arrived in Sri Lanka on an invitation extended by his Sri Lankan counterpart.
The Indian Navy Commander reached the island yesterday. He was received at the Katunayake International Airport by the Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe.
INS Delhi, a destroyer belonging to the Indian Navy docked at the Colombo Port yesterday to coincide with the arrival of the Indian Navy Commander.
Meanwhile a special Guard of Honour was accorded to the visiting Indian Navy Chief.
