Two In Custody, 78 Pounds Of Pot Confiscated At I-70 Traffic Stop
GREENFIELD — Two people are facing charges after officials found nearly 80 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle Monday.
It happened around 11 a.m. when an Indiana State Trooper conducted a vehicle stop on I-70 in Hancock County after the vehicle was seen weaving outside of traffic lanes.
Following an investigation, officials discovered 78 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, 51-year-old Christian Elie, and the passenger 42-year-old Austin Johnson of Indianapolis, were both arrested and taken into custody on drug charges.
The marijuana is estimated to be around $250,000 in street value.
The investigation remains ongoing.
