Police Complaint by Mohan Peiris
It is reported that the police have started investigating an incident where MP Azath Salley threatened the 44th Chief Justice Mohan Peiris at his residence.
SSP Ajith Rohana says that Chief Justice Mohan Peiris has lodged a complaint at the Cinnamon Garden Police around 11.30 pm on Tuesday (27), stating that a group led by Azath Salley had come to his residence at Wijerama around 7.30 pm on Tuesday and threatened him to resign from his post.
MP Azath Salley stated at a press conference held on Wednesday (28) in Colombo that he had visited the residence of the Chief Justice on an invitation made by him, and that such a threat never took place.
