Former Army Chief ordered in Courts to hand over HiCorp fraud charges
The Colombo High Court has ordered that suspects including Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka who is accused of involvement in the HiCorp financial fraud be produced in Courts for the handing over indictments.
Colombo High Court Judge Sunil Rajapaksa ordered the Prisons Superintendent to produce in Courts the former Army Commander who is in remand custody in relation to this charge and also Wellington De Hoedt, a Director of HiCorp on the 5th of next month. The Attorney General has indicted Sarath Fonseka under 21 charges that he had caused losses to the Sri Lanka Army by awarding a tender to HiCorp while he was serving as the Army Chief.
