Rajitha confirms Lal Kantha’s doubt

- lankatruth.com

There is a suspicion that things are happening according to a certain agreement between Prime Minister Ranl Wickremesinghe and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the Member of the Political Bureau of the JVP, Western PC Member K.D. Lal Kantha participating in a political programme telecast by ‘Sirasa’ TV recently. Cabinet spokesman and Minister Rajitha Senaratna admitted yesterday (26th) that there were many in the government who act according to such agreements.

“As I see the UNP is in favour of bringing in Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa to politics again. It is not wrong to think that Ranil Wickremesinghe and several others act in a manner to bring back Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa. For, these sections may be thinking that SLFP could be divided before the general election if Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa comes to the scene. Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe could be weighing the idea of bringing in Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa with the group in the SLFP that has been vagabondized and others who have become refugees to solve his issue.

If the UNP wants to bring in Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa to politics they wouldn't bring in accusations against him. The UNP would not harm the reputation of Mahinda Rajapaksa and the clique if they want to make use of them in their political strategy. They would allow the perpetrators to shed their black marks. If it is the strategy followed by the UNP the government would not mediate to find frauds, corruption and crimes of the previous regime,” said Mr. Lal Kantha.
