SLFP gagged!
The Central Committee of the SLFP decided that its members of various councils should not participate, without the sanction of the party, in any meetings organized by other political parties states the Secretary General of the SLFP Anura Priyadharshana Yapa in an announcement.
The announcement also states that the Central Committee of the SLFP decided to prevent councillors from acting according to their wishes and make statements to the media. The announcement further states various reactionary forces are attempting to weaken the SLFP.
Meanwhile, media had reported that councillors of the SLFP who participated in a rally at Nugegoda have been reprimanded by the party leadership.
