Aswin de Silva assumes duties as  Chairman NSB

Aswin de Silva, a senior finance professional assumed duties as chairman of the National Savings Bank yesterday (04) at the NSB Head Office , Kollupitiya.

Swaminathan , Minister of Resettlement, Reconstruction and Hindu Religious Affairs and the newly appointed Directors , D L P R Abeyaratne , Post Master General , K M M Siriwardane , Director General, Department of Fiscal Policy , Bradley Emersion , Wasantha Batagoda and Suranga Naullage . Dhammika Perera , GM /CEO and the senior management of NSB and special invitees too witnessed the event.

 

De Silva is a Fellow Member of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL), a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and FCPA (Australia).

 

His diverse banking experience expanding well over a decade includes several senior managerial positions at American Express. These include areas of Finance, Credit and Corporate Banking. He also worked as the Country Manager at Amex Travel related services, in Sri Lanka and Maldives.


De Silva is also the recipient of the Prestigious Chairman’s Award for Quality at Amex. De Silva has also served at Associated Motorways Co. as the Group Finance Director and as GM/CEO at Ceylinco Savings Bank. Immediately preceding this appointment as the Chairman, NSB, he has served in the Senior Managerial capacity in the corporate sector in Sydney, Australia.
