Sri Lankan Foreign Minister pays last respects to Lee Kuan Yew
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera, arrived in Singapore on Friday (27), and proceeded to the Parliament House, accompanied by Mr. Wishwanath Aponsu, Acting High Commissioner in Singapore to pay condolences on behalf of the President , the Prime Minister and the people of Sri Lanka.
In his condolence message, Minister Samaraweera stated that the late former Prime Minister Lee’s legacy would no doubt remain a constant source of inspiration and guidance to the people of Singapore and the Asian region.
The State funeral service will be held on Sunday 29th March at the University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore and will be attended by the late Mr. Lee’s family, friends and staff, the President, Cabinet Ministers, and Members of Parliament, followed by a private cremation at the Mandai Crematorium.
