Sri Lanka Cricket appoints Jerry Woutersz as National Team's Manager

Sri Lanka cricket (SLC) yesterday announced that a former first class cricketer Jerry Woutersz has been appointed to manage the national team. He will replace Michael de Zoysa as the new manager of the team from May 1.

"Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to announce that Jeryl (Jerry) Woutersz have been appointed as the National Team Manager with effect from 1st of May 2015," SLC said in a release.

 

Woutersz has been appointed for the in bound tours of Pakistan and India to Sri Lanka, SLC said.

 

The SLC also announced that Vinothan John was appointed as the Chairman of the National Selection Committee - Women's Cricket with effect from 10th of April 2015.


Varuna Waragoda and Uvais Karanain are the other members of the committee.

 

The Interim Committee has proposed those names and the Minister of Tourism and Sports Navin Dissanayake has ratified them.

 

"In addition to the above, former National Captain of the Women's Team of Sri Lanka, Ms. Vanessa De Silva has been appointed as the Manager of the Women's National Team for the forthcoming in bound tour of West Indies," the SLC said.
