SriLankan Aviation College holds graduation ceremony

The SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC), comprising the International Aviation Academy (IAA) and the SriLankan Technical Training (STT), held its graduation ceremony recently at the BMICH.
Aviation Minister Reginald Cooray, Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga and Deputy Minister of Aviation Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena graced the occasion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
SLAC produced 283 graduates at the event who have successfully completed IATA programs, a National Diploma in Aviation Management and aircraft maintenance courses.
Deputy Minister Abeywardena, addressing the gathering, said that it was a daunting task taken up by SLAC to deliver aviation professionals who could adapt to the industry’s dynamics at a time the global aviation industry is moving forward in terms of technology and methodology to make the safest and most convenient mode of cross-country transportation.
He further stated that by opening its doors to students from fellow South Asian countries, SLAC would be instrumental in boosting foreign exchange earnings.

 

 
“I hope this institution will help Sri Lanka send skilled professionals overseas, where the demand for qualified aviation personnel is high,” the Deputy Minister added.
SriLankan Aviation College General Manager Primal De Silva said: “We look forward to a future where more students from across Sri Lanka and the South Asia region seek this as a pathway to their dream careers.”
He stated that the SriLankan Aviation College was proud to deliver empowered professionals whose knowledge as well as growth potential would largely contribute to the development of the country.
