Maithri promises JVP his dedication to adopt 19th A
It is reported that President Maithripala Sirisena has told the leaders of the JVP that he would dedicate himself to get the 19th amendment adopted in Parliament on the 27th and 28th of this month. The President has said this when he had a discussion with JVP leaders yesterday (25th).
The President has also told JVP leaders that those who have been found guilty of fraud and corruption would be dealt with without considering their position or pressure. The Leader of the JVP Anura Dissanayaka, its General Secretary Tilvin Silva and Information Secretary Vijitha Herath participated in the discussion on behalf of the JVP.
JVP leaders have emphasized that a special mediation from the President was required regarding the moves against those who were involved in fraud and corruption.
