Military Police Commence Investigations on Reported Alleged Sale of Liquor at 'Laya Beach'
The Wadduwa Army Holiday Resort, meant to further promote welfare of both officers and other ranks while paying more dividends to them, was established in 1991 and was recently re-branded as the 'Laya Beach'.
Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, very concerned over some media reports on the alleged sale of liquor at the above Wadduwa Army Holiday Resort, has immediately instructed the Military Police to initiate investigations into the matter forthwith. Accordingly, the Military Police have already begun investigations.
Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army has further instructed relevant authorities to deal severely with wrong doers, irrespective of their rank or status, following Military Police findings and take all disciplinary action against everyone, involved in any such unlawful act according to military law.
