SLC MAJOR LEAGUE U23 50-OVER TOURNAMENT

Galle CC, Sebastianites C, BRC, Nugegoda S&WC and Tamil Union C & AC registered wins when the Sri Lanka Cricket Major Club Under-23 50-Over Tournament resumed on Sunday.

Galle CC ran up a total of 260 in defeating Kurunegela YCC by32 runs. Galle’s total was boosted by Pavan Sandesh who top scored with 72 while Kalpa Chetiya made 62 and Inura Dulsara 43. The Sandesh-Chetiya first wicket partnership realised 120 runs.

Kurunegela’s run chase looked flattering at 189 for 4 wickets at one stage, but with sudden overcast conditions setting in they lost their way losing the last six wickets for 39 runs. The top scorer was Dilshan Kollure who made 53.

Meanwhile, the CCC versus Kandy Customs match was rescheduled for Monday.
