“What we do, everybody can see it“
In Asian Buddhist countries, the Vesak Festival is one of the greatest and most important events of the year. For centuries it has been celebrated following the first full moon during the month of May. This full moon symbolizes Lord Buddha’s enlightenment. The celebration is held in commemoration of the historical Buddha Siddhartha Gautama’s birth, his enlightenment, and his passing into Parinibbana. The monks at the Berlin Buddhist Vihara (Das Buddhistische Haus) follow this tradition as well.
