Supercapacitors Find Applications in Hybrid Vehicles, Smartphones, and Energy Harvesting

A supercapacitor works on the principal of a conventional capacitor but utilizes greater surface area of electrodes and thinner dielectric to achieve greater capacitance, ranging from 100,000 µF to some 3000 F. Owing to this, a supercapacitor has a greater energy density than a conventional capacitor and higher power density than a traditional battery. Currently, supercapacitors are being adopted as the most effective power solution devices across different application segments.
