Salary database update today

- thestate.com

New data for thousands of state employees has been uploaded to our South Carolina State Salary Database.

The new data is from the SC Budget and Control Board, which manages the payroll for a large percentage of the agencies in the database. The update contains 15,469 records, 80 percent of the 19,391 in the database.

The data is available under the state Freedom of Information Act, bolstered by state government's transparency initiative. State law allows release of names, titles and annualized salaries for state employees who make $50,000 or more.
