People’s Bank celebrates International Migrants Day

Commemorating International Migrants Day, the Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare together with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has organised Dirisariya – Vinimaya Dinu Rataviru Upahara, a programme  and walk at the Galle Face, under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

At this ceremony, four individuals who were leaving for foreign employment received People’s Bank International VISA debit cards by the President. Apart from using this card as a convenient method for transactions, it can also be used as an identity card as it carries the passport number and photograph of the user.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare, Dilan Perera, Minister of Postal Services, Jeevan Kumarathunga, Ministers of Parliament, Namal Rajapaksa and M.H.M Ashwar along with the Chairman of the Bureau of Foreign Employment, Kingsley Ranawaka and the Chairman of People’s Bank, W.
