Private bus fares to be increased by 30%
Private bus fares will be increased by 30% from July, the Private Bus Owners’ Association said.
The Private Bus Owners’ Association said that the minimum fare will be increased to Rs. 40 with effect from 01st July.
The bus fare hike comes after the price of fuel was increased by both the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Lanka Indian Oil this week.
Accordingly, Petrol (Octane 92) was increased by Rs.50 and the new price is Rs.470, (Octane 95) is up by Rs.100 and the new price is Rs.550, Auto Diesel is up by Rs.60 and the new price is Rs.460, Super Diesel is up by Rs.75 and the new price is Rs.520.
Meanwhile, Lanka Indian Oil (LIOC) had also increased the price of fuel following the price increase announced by CEYPETCO. (Colombo Gazette)
