Sri Lanka sells Rs142bn in 2025, 2028, 2031 bonds
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has sold 142 billion rupees of 2025, 2028 and 2031 bonds after offering 160 billion with the yield curve inverting, data from the state debt office shows.
The debt office sold 52.25 billion rupees of 01 June 2025 bonds after offering 60 billion rupees at a weighted average yield of 23.77 percent, at an auction of June 28 slightly up from the last auction.
At a May 30 auction, 01 June 2025 bonds were sold at 22.38 percent.
The debt office sold all offered 60 billion rupees of 15 January 2028 bonds at 21.18 percent down from 21.86 percent on May 30.
All offered 60 billion rupees of 15 May 2031 bond were sold at 20.74 percent, showing an inversion of the yield curve.
The debt office is offering 2035 bonds on tap until June 30. (Colombo/June29/2022)
