RAW Chief meets Ranil, Basil

President Ranil Wickremesinghe will inform about his meeting with Samant Kumar Goel, head of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to the National Security council, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Bandula Gunawardane told journalists yesterday, quoting Wickremesinghe.

“After Monday’s Cabinet meeting, I asked the President about the meeting with the head of RAW. I told him that journalists have been asking me this,” he said.

The President told Gunawardane that as the head of the government, he has to meet representatives from various institutions.

“He said that a lot of international organizations wish to speak to him. He added that he can only tell the National Security Council about his meeting with the head of RAW, given that he is a head of an intelligence agency. The council meets once a week and the President will inform them,” he said.
