Oshada Fernando struck a brilliant 114 off 134 balls and Nishan Madushka an unbeaten 91 off 126 as the openers led Sri Lanka A’s fight back against England Lions forging 203 runs for the first wicket as the hosts did well to reduce a 331 deficit to 103 runs with nine wickets intact yesterday on the second day of the 4-day first Test match at the SSC Grounds. Fernando, who struck 18 boundaries, was the only wicket to fall as Sri Lanka A fronted a massive England Lions first innings total of 467 mounted by a century by Tom Haines who scored 118 off 148 balls hitting 12 boundaries and a six.

Madushka hit 13 boundaries and a six and remained the locals big hope to take it further to salvaging the game.
