Colombo Skipper Avishka Fernando top scored with 62 off 84 balls to steer his side to 210 for 6 in reply to Jaffna’s 199 on the third day of the Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League 2023 match at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Fernando struck 8, boundaries with his opening partner Heshan Fernando chipped in with 36 off 83 inclusive of 4 boundaries. Roshen Silva was run out for 32 when looking well set. Prabath Jayasuriya also came good with the bat with an unbeaten 30 off 49 hitting 5 boundaries with Manoj Sarathchandra with him on 21 at stumps.

When play resumed Jaffna, resuming from overnight 171 for 7 added a further 28 with Tharindu Rathnayake returning figures of 4 for 24.
