Amelia Kerr’s all-round efforts helped Mumbai Indians end the league stage of the Women’s Premier League with six wins out of eight as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 4 wickets at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (March 21). Kerr’s three-wicket haul, along with two wickets apiece for Nat Sciver-Brunt and Issy Wong, restricted RCB to 125/9. But MI needed to reach the target within 11.3 overs to surpass the Net Run Rate of Delhi Capitals, which they failed to do as they lost quick wickets after a positive start. Kerr (31* off 27) and Pooja Vastrakar, who got together at 73/4, put on a 47-run stand as MI won with 3.3 overs to spare.

Brief scores:

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women 125/9 in 20 overs (Richa Ghosh 29, Ellyse Perry 29; Amelia Kerr 3-22, Nat Sciver-Brunt 2-24) lost to Mumbai Indians Women 129/6 in 16.3 overs (Amelia Kerr 31*, Yastika Bhatia 30; Kanika Ahuja 2-5) by 4 wickets.
