State prison escapee back in custody
A minimum-security inmate who walked away from a Spartanburg facility of the S.C. Department of Corrections is back in custody.
Franklin Harris was serving an eight-year sentence for assault with intent to kill. He escaped Monday from the Livesay Correctional Institution but was arrested around 7:30 p.m. at his mother's home in Union County.Harris is now at the maximum-security Broad River Correctional Institution and faces a felony escape charge carrying a one- to 15-year sentence.
