No Kusa Paba in Anuradhapura
(Srilankamirror) - Colombo District judge G.A.D. Ganepola today (Jan. 25) issued an interim order against the film Kusa Paba from being screened in cinema halls in Anuradhapura.
The order will prevent the much anticipated film from being screened in Anuradhapura for 14 days.
Earlier, it has been agreed to screen the film in EAP cinema halls. However, on the influence of Renuka Balasuriya, measures have been taken to screen the film at the Vijendra cinema hall in Anuradhapura instead of the EAP’s Cinestar cinema hall.
Owner of Cinestar - Vipula Rajpal had filed a petition against this measure and the order was issued after the judge took up the case today.
The petition cited several parties including the Film Corporation, Renuka Balasuriya, Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake, H.D. Premasiri and Dhammika Siriwardena as respondents.
