SLPI panel discussion on World Press Freedom Day today

The Sri Lanka Press Institute will hold a panel discussion to commemorate World Press Freedom Day 2012 on Thursday 3 May from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Sri Lanka Press Institute Auditorium – 96, Kirula Road, Colombo  5 on the theme ‘New Voices: Media Freedom Helping to Transform Societies’.

The panellists will be Sri Lanka Rupavahani Corporation Chairman Mohan Samaranayake, The Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka Representative Rajpal Abeynayake, South Asia Free Media Association – Sri Lanka Chapter Representative Lakshman Gunasekera, Sri Lanka Working Journalists Association Representative Ranga Jayasuriya and Free Media Movement Representative Dileesha Abeysundera.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Daily Mirror Editor Champika Liyanaarachchi.
Simultaneous translation in Sinhala, Tamil and English will be provided to the audience.
