KOSCIUSKO — A North Webster man was arrested after stealing several vehicles from various residences.

Travis Michael Mrozinski, 22, 310 N. Hickory St. East, North Webster, is being charged with burglary, a level 4 felony, and five counts of auto theft, all level 6 felonies.

On April 1, officers spoke with a male subject who stated that his 2003 Ford Ranger pickup had been stolen from his residence. The subject was asleep when he heard his vehicle start. According to the affidavit of probable cause, he exited his residence and saw two males flee in his Ford pickup.

The subject noticed a white 2002 Chevrolet van with a trailer and a 2008 Bad Boy Buggy parked next to his residence.

Officers discovered that the vehicles were stolen from Syracuse and one belonged to a second male subject. The second subject arrived at the scene, stating that the van and trailer belonged to him.

The second subject told officers that the two males lifted up the garage door to enter his residence, obtaining the keys for the Chevrolet van inside the garage.

Officers spoke with a third male subject who said that his Bad Boy Buggy was stolen from his residence sometime between March 31 and April 1.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 2, officers from the Saint Joseph County Sheriff’s Department in Michigan contacted Kosciusko County officers, advising they found a Ford F550 dump bed pickup truck parked at a business with the lights on and the doors open.

The pickup truck was registered to a business in Kosciusko County. Officers spoke to the owner of the business, who stated he did not give anyone permission to take the vehicle and that it had been stolen.

Employees at the business stated that a Ford Ranger pickup truck was parked at the business. This was the same vehicle stolen from a male subject on April 1.

On April 4, Kosciusko County officers recovered a Jeep Wrangler reported stolen from Saint Joe County, Mich., at Turtle Bay Mobile Home Park, Syracuse.

In a nearby residence, officers located Johnathon Michael Stump and spoke with him. He advised that he and Travis Michael Mrozinski stole all of those vehicles.

On April 3, an officer with the North Webster Police Department responded to an auto theft at the Circle K Gas Station.

The officer spoke with a male who advised he parked his silver Pontiac Vibe at the gas station, left it running and went inside to get coffee. When he returned, he discovered that his vehicle had been stolen.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, while the officer was obtaining information from this male for a report, Kosciusko County Dispatch received a call from a female who advised that Mrozinski had been at her residence and had informed her that he wanted to go see his ex-girlfriend to get some items. The caller stated that Mrozinski does not have a vehicle and had left her residence in the stolen silver Pontiac Vibe.

The female further advised that Mrozinski’s ex-girlfriend had contacted her and advised that Mrozinski was at her residence with the stolen Pontiac.

Mrozinski was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on April 17, with a $40,250 surety and cash bond.
