The foundation of our Association was laid in year 2008 when a few families gathered with the intention of prayer. As we became a close-knit family in faith and prayer and with the growth of our second generation, the need for a formal meeting ground for our group arise. \u00a0Mid-2015, we met with the Adelaide Archdiocese, Multicultural office to discuss the spiritual needs of the Sri Lankan Catholic community in South Australia. Since then, we were able to create rapport and build a good support network within the Adelaide Archdiocese, enabling the facilitation of specific spiritual activities, perpetuating and advancing our Sri Lankan Catholic cultural heritage within the community in Adelaide. Since inception, with the direction and support from the Adelaide Archdiocese and through enormous contributions of a committed team of volunteers, we were able to bring our organization to a formal incorporated level as the Sri Lankan Catholic Association of South Australia.
