Distribution of Cricket gear to 30 more schools

Sri Lanka Cricket distributed cricket gear to 30 schools at a simple ceremony officiated by Chairman D.S.de Silva. 450 schools were recipients of cricket material as per the approved development plan undertaken to distribute cricket materials to schools. Sri Lanka Cricket under the guidance of its Chairman D.S.de Silva selected 30 more schools in addition to the 450 that are already in the development plan and assured all 480 institutions that cricket gear will be upgraded every three years. The investment and the pledge are keeping in line with His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapakse’s   vision of “Gamata Cricket”. In the recently concluded distribution Ceremony, 10 senior kits and 26 junior kits were distributed along with Center matting’s to schools that have cricket grounds. Each kit bag consisted of 5 bats, 5 pairs of batting gloves, 5 batting leg guards, with 5 helmets, 2 pairs of wicket keeping gloves, 2 leg guards with 5pairs of thigh pads and arm guards. All schools received a large size kit bag as well.
