Mahinda, Nasheed enjoy Sri Lanka- Australia third ODI

Visiting President of the Republic of Maldives Mohamed Nasheed joined his Sri Lankan counterpart President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Sooriyawewa International Cricket Stadium in Hambanthota to watch the Sri Lanka- Australia third One Day International yesterday.

The visiting President also met the residents in  Hambanthota and engaged in a friendly conversation.  Nasheed arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday  morning with a six member delegation on an official visit. External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris welcomed the Maldivian President at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake and held bilateral discussions.
According to the President’s Media Unit, the two leaders are scheduled to meet over dinner tonight for bilateral discussions.
President Rajapaksa’s son, parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and the Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket interim Upali Dharmadasa also accompanied the two leaders.
