Shippers Council to hold exporters forum with industry leaders

The Sri Lanka Shippers Council (SLSC) will conduct a forum titled: Exporters Forum with Industry Leaders on Thursday, 8 September 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Auditorium, Colombo 2.
This forum is organised to understand all trade and operational issues and find answers to or lobby relevant authorities for any remedial action needed in one voice as an industry.

Areas being looked at are: simplification of cargo clearance procedures/delays, delays in getting approvals, documentation issues, importer’s issues/importers re-exporter’s issues, high costs/charges ( import/export ), lengthy/time consuming procedures, non value adding activities/waste of resources and new ideas.
Sri Lanka Shippers Council; 41 years in the trade is willing to help and share their expertise with regard to trade/operational issues.
This in the council’s vision/desire is to contribute to the national development and as initiative for interactive programmes for the membership and the trade.
The forum is offered free of charge for the participants.
