CIMA to conduct discussion on ‘Evaluating LKAS 17: Leases’

CIMA Sri Lanka will be conducting an evening discussion programme on ‘Evaluating LKAS 17: Leases’ on 30 November at the CIMA auditorium.
The objective of the discussion will be to enlighten participants on the changes that have been incorporated through the new leasing standard, how management accountants can create value when coping with these changes, and the consequences of such changes to diverse industries, focusing on how they are effectively managed.

The deliberations at the forum will be made by Jithendra Gunatilleke, Deputy General Manager, Finance Operations, Lanka Orix Leasing Company and Danushka Mallawarachchi, Assistant Manager – Finance corporate, Lanka Orix Leasing Company PLC.
This will be followed by an engaging and thought provoking panel discussion by Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, Deputy General Manager Finance, People’s Leasing Company PLC, who is the immediate Past Chairman of the Leasing Association of Sri Lanka,  Sunjeevani Kotakadeniya, Chief Financial Officer – LOLC Group and Sunil Peiris – Senior Vice President/Sector Financial Controller – Leisure: Sri Lankan Resorts and City Hotels
The panel discussion will be moderated by Manil Jayesinghe, Partner, Ernst and Young, who will also share his insights on how the leasing standard impacts financial reporting in Sri Lanka, as well as practical implementation issues and misconceptions relating to the standard.
