Launches first terminal under new initiative at Fort Railway Station

Railway commuters will have instant access to Sri Lanka’s single largest electronic cash dispensing facility following the commencement of an initiative by Commercial Bank to install ATM terminals at key railways stations in the country.

The Bank’s first ATM machine under this programme was ceremonially commissioned by Minister of Transport, Kumara Welgama at the Fort Railway Station recently.
This is to be followed by the installation of ATMs at Maradana, Ganemulla, Ragama, Moratuwa and Panadura Railway Stations, the Bank said.
The ATM at the Fort Railway station increases the number of terminals of the Commercial Bank’s ATM network in Sri Lanka to 477.
“This initiative reiterates our continuing commitment to improve customer convenience and increase access to the country’s largest and most reliable ATM network,” said AGM (Properties and Services) Noel Wickramasinghe.
Apart from cash withdrawals, ATMs of Commercial Bank enable settlement of water and electricity bills, bills of Dialog, Mobitel, Etisalat, Hutch and Lankabell networks, Commercial Bank and American Express Credit Card payments and Credit Card payments of several leading international banks 24-hours a day, 365-days of the year.
The only Sri Lankan Bank to be listed among the top 1000 Banks in the world, Commercial Bank’s network in Sri Lanka comprises of 211 online and real time linked branches, service points and supermarket banking counters. The Bank has been adjudged ‘Best Bank in Sri Lanka’ for 13 consecutive years by ‘Global Finance’ Magazine and has won multiple awards as the country’s best bank from ‘FinanceAsia,’ ‘Euromoney’ and ‘Trade Finance’ magazines.
