One of the biggest consumer promotions in Sri Lanka, the initiative saw 16 lucky Coke lovers win an all-expense paid five day trip to Switzerland. To participate in this exciting initiative, launched in June 2011, consumers just needed to purchase a bottle of Coca-Cola, Fanta Orange, Fanta Portello, Fanta Cream Soda or Sprite with special green promotional crowns and look for a prize or a ninie digit unique code under the bottle’s crown.
The consumers then needed to redeem the prize from the shopkeeper or SMS ‘Brrr’ followed by the nine digit unique code to 2580 from their mobile phones to win a full expense paid couple trip to Switzerland. The winners were chosen through a computer generated lucky draw.
Ensuring that all consumers got an opportunity to participate in this initiative, the promotion was not restricted to a single mobile service provider. Consumers could SMS through any mobile service provider, namely Dialog, Mobitel, Etisalat, Airtel or Hutch (excludes CDMA or internet-based SMS). This innovation was made possible through technical expertise provided by HSenid Mobile.  Commenting on the success of the initiative, Saumindra Bhattacharya, the Country Manager, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Limited, said: “At Coca-Cola Sri Lanka we endeavour to find innovative ways to refresh our consumers and ‘Brrr Wenna Swiss Yanna’ was an initiative that truly connected Coca-Cola with our consumers. Our 16 lucky loyal consumers had an excellent trip to Switzerland and experienced the Brrr in the snow-capped mountains, similar to experience they had while enjoying an ice cold Coca-Cola. We put together a particular itinerary for them to be able to experience the unparalleled magic of Coca-Cola and are glad they had a wonderful trip.” The all-expense paid trip to Switzerland was organized by Coca-Cola with a special itinerary prepared for the lucky winners. During their visit, the winners spent the day sightseeing in the beautiful city of Zurich visiting the museums, famous historical landmarks and recreational areas. They also got the chance to visit enchanting towns, enjoyed guided tours and dining at some of the best restaurants in the area.
Immersing themselves in the glacial landscapes and eternal snow of the Alpine Peaks, the Coke lovers also embarked on a cruise on the beautiful Lake Lucerne and went to popular landmarks such as the IMAX Museum and Lion monument. ‘Brrr Wenna Swiss Yanna was a truly memorable initiative as the winners were treated to the finest of Switzerland and arrived back in Sri Lanka having truly felt the ‘Brrr’ like never before.
Speaking about the initiative, Abhishek Jugran, Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives, Coca-Cola Far East Limited said: “The Coca-Cola ‘CeleBRRRRation’ campaign was by far the most unique consumer activation initiative to be organised in the island country. Initiatives like these reflect our focus towards connecting and engaging with consumers through innovative and exciting methods. We are happy to bring alive the true Coca-Cola BRRRRRR experience for the 16 lucky winners through their visit to Switzerland. This was our way of expressing gratitude to our consumers for their continued support and love for the brand. We are very thrilled with the phenomenal response that this initiative garnered from the people of Sri Lanka and it only encourages us to keep recreating such magical experiences for our consumers over and over again.”
