Specific areas made available for non-violent protests
Specific areas in Colombo have been made available for non-violent protests.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that facilities within Colombo, such as the Open-Air theatre at Viharamahadevi Park, New Town Hall, Hyde Park and Campbell Park were all being made available to non-violent protests.
Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had earlier allowed protests to take place at a specific location in Galle Face as well.
The ‘GotaGoGama’ protest site has been established in and around the area where former President Rajapaksa had allowed protesters to gather. (Colombo Gazette)
