Ranil invites MPs for talks to form all-party Government
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has invited Members of Parliament for talks to form an all-party Government.
The President’s Media Division said that the Government is currently taking efforts to restore normalcy in the country.
A systematic economic reforms programme is being formulated to address the economic crisis.
The President is of the opinion that all political parties represented in Parliament and outside should be part of the process to address the crisis in the country.
Accordingly, the President has proposed to initiate a broad dialogue to discuss the next steps, including the reintroduction of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
He has urged the political parties in Parliament to inform him at the earliest their response to his invitation to engage in talks to address the crisis. (Colombo Gazette)
