Sri Lanka sells Rs127bn in bonds, 2032 on tap at 30.09-pct
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has sold 127 billion rupees of bonds after offering 145 billion rupees, with 70 billion rupees of 2032 bonds sold at 30.98 percent, data from the state debt office showed.
The debt office sold 25.5 billion rupees of 01 July 2025 bonds at an average yield of 30.95 percent.
The debt office sold 31.8 billion rupees of 15 January 2028 bonds after offering 35 billion rupees.
The cut was estimated to be around 34 percent for both maturities by market participants.
All 70 billion rupees in 01 July 2032 bond were sold at 30.09 percent.
The cut off was estimated around 30.7 percent. Sri Lanka’s bond yields are elevated due to fears of domestic debt re-structuring. (Colombo/Sept29/2022)
