Basil not disappointed on losing MP seat
Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa says he is not disappointed on losing his chances of contesting future elections.
Rajapaksa, a dual citizen, cannot contest future elections under the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
Responding to questions raised by journalists at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) headquarters today, Rajapaksa said that he was not disappointed after losing the right to contest future elections under the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
However, he said he will continue to remain in active politics.
The former MP also said that the SLPP is prepared to face the next election.
He also said that the party has no regrets in choosing Ranil Wickremesinghe as President. (Colombo Gazette)
