SIS-Navy operation nets trawler with large consignment of narcotics
A joint operation conducted by the State Intelligence Service and Sri Lanka Navy led to the interception of a local multi- day fishing trawler carrying 121 kilos of narcotics along with six suspects. The haul was estimated to be with a street value of Rs. 2.8 billion.
The arrests were made by SLNS Vijayabahu in the high seas south of Sri Lanka.The drug-carrying vessel and suspects were brought to the Colombo Port yesterday (18).
