Lenovo experiencing ‘tremendous growth’ in SL under ‘Smarter Tech for All’ vision

The global technology powerhouse, Lenovo, has seen tremendous growth in Sri Lanka during the last three to four years, said Naveen Kejriwal, General Manager- Overseas Business, Consumer, Commercial & Tablets of Lenovo.

Lenovo is a USD 62 billion revenue global technology powerhouse, ranked #217 in the Fortune Global 500, employing 77,000 people around the world and serving millions of customers daily in 180 markets.

Focused on a bold vision to deliver ‘Smarter Technology for All’, Lenovo has built on its success as the world’s largest PC company by further expanding into growth areas that fuel the advancement of ‘New IT’ technologies (client, edge, cloud, network, and intelligence) including server, storage, mobile, software, solutions, and services.

Speaking to journalists at a round table discussion on Wednesday in Colombo Kejriwal stressed that Lenovo shares the vision for a digital Sri Lanka.

Kejiriwal added: ‘Lenovo is opening a first-of-a-kind experience store in Colombo, marking a significant milestone in the company’s presence in the region.

‘ Lenovo has a larger commitment to further Sri Lanka’s digital transformation story, unleashing the power of AI to drive intelligent transformation with purpose-built AI-ready devices, infrastructure, solutions, and services that empower industries, enterprises, and individuals.

‘Our vision is to deliver smarter technology through cutting-edge products and solutions for our customers and partners. We will continue to deepen our investments in the country by bolstering our retail network and partner ecosystem to ensure they can take advantage of Lenovo’s pocket to cloud offerings.’

Dinesh Nair, Director, Consumer Business, Lenovo India said that Lenovo has been the #1 PC brand in Sri Lanka for three consecutive quarters and is committed to continue growing its market share in the country. The newly launched experience store (LES) promises to enhance the overall purchase experience, encouraging customers to ‘Stay and Play’ with its unique UNIFY design. The new store is part of Lenovo’s growth plan for the region. Lenovo plans to expand its footprint with 10 more similar stores in Sri Lanka over the next 2 years.

“We are committed to making AI accessible to a wide range of users, transcending verticals and spanning across various regions. We look forward to contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of AI technology within the Sri Lankan market, fostering innovation and technological advancement, he added.

Responding to queries Nair said that Sri Lanka has a market share of 25 per cent as against India’s 19 per cent.He said that they are committed to giving smarter technology to larger masses.

Nair also said that Lenovo has been working towards strengthening its channel and partner distribution network and has introduced some of the latest and innovative device portfolios in Sri Lanka, which will further boost the digital infrastructure of the country and support the government’s Digital Sri Lanka mission. The company is collaborating with various end customers in Sri Lanka to develop and implement digital solutions across various sectors, leveraging its expertise in devices, services, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
