64th Mercantile Table Tennis Championship

In a dazzling display of talent and fierce competition, the 64th Inter-Firm Table Tennis League Championship 2023, organized by the Mercantile Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka, unfolded at the Kandy Municipal Council Indoor Stadium on Sunday, December 3rd. The tournament featured a spectacular lineup of matches across various divisions, showcasing the resilience and prowess of participating teams.

Adding to the grandeur of the event, Ananda Kumar, Manager Operations at Emjay International PVT LTD, and Jayampathi Rathnayake, Deputy General Manager – IE, MOS & Quality Assurance at MAS Matrix, graced the occasion as distinguished guests.

The President of MTTA Sri Lanka, Chanaka Perera, expressed his gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and the organizing committee.

Special thanks were extended to Kasun Punchihewa (Treasurer, MTTA Sri Lanka), Orshard Setunga (Tournament Committee Chairman, MTTA Sri Lanka), Janith Nimantha (Executive Member, MTTA Sri Lanka) and Sandun Malshan (Executive Member, MTTA Sri Lanka) for their unwavering support.

This remarkable day of sportsmanship was a testament to the dedication and spirit of the Mercantile Table Tennis Association and its member companies.

MAS dominated the ‘A’ Division category with the men’s team winning the title defeating CDB Finance PLC.

In the women’s category of the top division, two MAS teams entered the finals and MAS ‘A’ won the Championship while MAS ‘B’ finished second.
