“Press Vs. Prez” will be launched on 07th March

A book titled “Press Vs. Prez” providing insights into how newspaper cartoonists portrayed President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s unique role in steering the country through economic turmoil, will be officially launched at the Nelum Pokuna Theater in Colombo on 07th March 2024, at 4:00 PM. The event will be graced by President Ranil Wickremesinghe himself.

The compilation has been curated by Member of Parliament and Chairman of the United National Party Vajira Abeywardena. The collection contains approximately 600 cartoons published from 23rd June 2021 the day President Ranil Wickremesinghe took office as a member of the 9th Parliament up to May 2023

Forty cartoonists and around twenty journalists have contributed their works to this compilation. Furthermore, the ceremony will also acknowledge the contributions of the cartoonists and television anchors who presented these cartoons on TV.

Former presidents, Ministers, Members of the Parliament, foreign ambassadors, journalists, and closest friends of President Ranil Wickremesinghe have been invited for the launch.
