A proposal by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to extend the term of Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam by another six months has been shot down. The proposal was rejected by the Constitutional Council which met in Parliament, Tuesday. The Constitutional Council met to discuss the President’s proposal and decide on the matter.
