Convening a media briefing in Colombo on Thursday August 27, Civil Organisations commented on the investigations over missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

Speaking at the briefing, Sandya Eknaligoda stated that the Criminal Investigations Department was capable of arresting the officers who had abducted Prageeth and detained him at several places.

She added that the detention order for the Secretary of Defence has not been given to the CID as yet.

She further stated that she wants to know what happened to Prageeth Eknaligoda and that as a citizen of this country, she seeks that criminals should not be protected.

She further added that if the President does not intervene in the case, the persons responsible would escape through the loop-holes in the CID.
