Hand grenade leads to three arrests

Police have arrested an individual who had a live hand grenade in his possession, in Matara police division yesterday (1) at around 12.45p.m. During questioning, he revealed that he is a suspect wanted in connection with numerous crimes including gold chain snatching, Police Media Unit said.

Later, Police have arrested two accomplices of the suspect using information the suspect revealed during the interrogation. They are residents of Meegahathenna area.

e suspects will be produced before Matara Magistrate today (2).

Matara Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
