SLC provides Cricket Gear to Schools

The distribution ceremony of Cricket Balls and Mattings to cricket playing Schools identified by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association was held at the Ministry of Sports premise today, with the participation of  Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, Minister of Sports together with Hony. Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket  Mr. Mohan de Silva.

35 Schools  were recipients of Cricket Mattings and 4000 Grays Cricket Balls were distributed to 178 Schools in the Under 19 – Division 1, 2 and 3

Speaking at the event,  Hony. Secretary of SLC Mr. Mohan de Silva stated that “Due to numerous requests from Clubs and Schools in the country to construct Side Wickets in their respective areas, SLC has taken a decision to re-evaluate all requests in consultation with the District and Provincial Cricket Associations.

SLC & SLSCA will work together with the Ministry of Sports on this project which will help lift the standard of school cricket in Sri Lanka”.

Secretary Schools Cricket Association Mr.Dilshan de Silva, Chief Executive Officer SLC Ashley de Silva, Head of Cricket Operations SLC Carlton Bernardus were present to distribute the equipment to the schools nominated by Sri Lanka  Schools  Cricket  Association.
