Renowned sports physician conducts free medical clinic in Colombo
A medical clinic conducted by renowned sports physician Professor Siri Kannangara was held at a private hospital in Colombo on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.
Born in Sri Lanka and currently residing in Australia, Professor Siri Kannangara conducted this workshop free of charge and has been doing so for the past 22 years as his way of serving his motherland. Professor Siri Kannangara is known for treating members of the Sri Lanka Cricket team and was the official doctor of the Australian football team for 26 years. He was also a member of the medical team for Australia at the Barcelona, Atlanta and Sydney Olympic games.
“I have lots of experience in sports medicine, rheumatology and arthritic conditions,” he said, adding there are lot of patients who play sports, resulting in injury. While some can get expert advice, this is done free of charge along with the hospital that provides the facility for free.
